The Carbon Dioxide (CO₂₎ Laser

The (CO₂₎ laser is one of the most powerful and efficient lasers in commercial use, and the type used almost exclusively at Etching Pros. Depending on the material to be engraved, Etching Pros will select the proper size machine, beam power setting, and speed suitable for that particular job. The CO₂ laser(s) employed at Etching Pros produces a beam of coherent light in the 9.4 - 10.6 micrometers range. Beam power from a given CO₂ laser can range in the hundreds of watts when necessary, but more commonly power is limited to the 30 – 50 watt power output range. That is generally the range necessary to do high quality laser etching on marble, granite, slate, and glass, which is of course our core business. As part of the the engraving process, photographic images supplied by you the customer are typically transferred from a PC using a special rasterized imaging mode directly to the laser engraving machine itself. The result is a high quality permanent etching, completely personalized and unique.
